Wireless headphones are a must-have for traveling. They're also great for staying productive while traveling, as they can help block out noise around you and drown out distractions so that you can focus on the task at hand.
I personally use the Bose 700 Noise Canceling Headphones because they offer both long battery life (up to 12 hours per charge) and great audio quality; plus both models come with an adjustable band so there isn't much guesswork involved when finding just how tight each pair sits upon one's headband making sure not only does it stay put but doesn't cause any discomfort either from prolonged use over time period long enough.
The biggest draw I personally had to these were the microphones. They have 12 different microphones, 2 are designed to pick up your voice, the rest is to block out other sounds. I can record content, or take calls in a coffee shop and the listener can hear everything I say.
Even when you have a home office I recommend a second monitor. It allows you to be more effective by not switching back and forth between screens (which will
make your day seem longer than it actually is). This is the bare minimum I ALWAYS bring. If I have to move quickly then this and my headphones are always with me.
I've tried so many portable secondary monitors and I am IN LOVE with this SideTrak portable monitor. It's compact, folds up easily to save space, you can use it horizontally or vertically, and you only need one cord to plug it into your laptop and power it.
It comes in two sizes and I personally chose the 12.5" one for weight and space, but from my product research if you aren't concerned over limited space (like me with a backpack) everyone loves the 14" as well.
I use my monitor for a lot of different things. I keep my calendar open all day, as well as Gmail and Slack - so those just always live on the secondary screen. Anytime I am hosting a call, I showcase my demos and projects on my large screen and keep my notes up, or slack with my team on the second. Cannot support this enough!!!
Ring Light is a portable light that can be used for photography, video, and other applications. It's great for working on the go, especially when you're traveling to different places or taking pictures in dimly lit rooms.
For my full time job I am a COO of a tech company, so I am on zoom calls almost every day. My side jobs include recording a lot of content. So both of these a good ring light is important.
When I have the opportunity to stay in a place for a month or longer I usually bring a larger stand ring light. But there are travel ring lights that are perfect and doesn't take up a lot of space, plus it can charge directly from your laptop should you start to lose power on it. Each product below I have tried and each have their own pros and cons, so make sure to pick the one that best suits your needs out of these variations.
The unedited photo to the right is in the same place just one without a ring light, and one with a ring light. It makes a huge difference!
If you're a traveler, you know that there's nothing worse than working on your laptop for hours at a time. It's uncomfortable, it can cause neck strain, and it's not great for your back.
But the Lasitu laptop riser is here to save the day! This small design makes it very easy to carry it with you without taking up much room in your bag as well. The travel laptop riser also makes it easier to take video calls when you're not sitting up straight--you can easily adjust the height of your screen so that it's at eye level, which means no more looking down at people while they're talking!
The Lasitu laptop riser is a must-have for anyone who travels with their laptop. It's great for avoiding neck strain and back pain, because it allows you to work comfortably while sitting all day.
If you're going to be spending any amount of time on the road or abroad, it's worth investing in a wireless keyboard.
The reason for this is simple: a wired keyboard can be detrimental to your body. If not used correctly it cause arm and wrist strain. I find that using the laptop's built-in keyboard is painful because it doesn't allow me to sit comfortably while working and looking at the properly leveled screen.
I personally have a Macbook Pro, and one thing I learned is Apple will absolutely force you to use their products. There are great products I have used with my old PC laptop, like this Seenda Bluetooth Keyboard. It is sleek and light, and has a number pad built in, which I am always using. If you could careless about a numpad, this Arteck one was my favorite I have used so far.
But when it comes to a mac, the magic keyboard is the only way to go. It's compact, light, fits in my travel backpack and if you work with numbers a lot like I do you can get one with a numpad built-in like I have in my long term offices.
Or you can smaller keyboard and get a portable numpad like I personally do while traveling to save space. Apple doesn't make a portable number pad anymore, so this one is not apple but I have found it to be consistent and easy to use.
You'll need a wireless mouse if you're constantly on the go.
Just think of it as an extension of the wireless keyboard when it comes to comfort and productivity. You will see the same Apple vs PC issue here. I personally liked this Fenifox Mouse for my PC laptop. It is slim, and works seamlessly.
But I absolutely swear by the Apple Magic Mouse. It's smooth, you can use the same trackpad functionality directly on the mouse, and it's very slim (saves on travel space).
One thing to keep in mind though is it does not work on glass. I've always purchased renewed mice and keyboards, so if you're looking to save some money on the good gear like this, I can vouch for them working properly when they have been properly marked as renewed.
